About Good Barber:
Good Barbershop opened on Park Street, South Melbourne in 2017 and it’s been good vibes ever since. Providing the area with some impressive tight fades, GB has quickly become a popular neighbourhood haunt.
John Choi from GB is good peoples. It’s worth reading more about why here. He’s also my man’s only trusted barber, so naturally, when JC was looking to create a simple site, we jumped on the chance to work with him on it.

Design Process:
With websites this simple, an easy conversion and designing for mobile first is key. Kevin worked closely with GB to establish key goals for visitors of the site, and introduced the integration with Timely to make managing appointments simple.

The website layout was kept simple across all devices, using a tight grid and clear information heirarchy. We focussed on cool and clear typography with a simple use of colour, and used a versatile grid system to maintain content design integrity across devices.
Creating simple navigation on both desktop and mobile devices was critical to ensure that our conversion call-to-actions were easy to use, and essentially, unmissable.

We prioritised three key actions:
  • Booking a cut
  • Calling the shop
  • Getting directions

And designed the navigation on mobile specifically to complete these three actions with ease. Overall, we created a simple site with a high attention to detail.
